Man bag!

Last week I sold a radio Walkman to a nice chap called Mark on Ebay.  He paid promptly and  asked  that I post it to his partner.  I said I would and thought nothing more about it until he sent me an email saying that he'd had a look on my site and that he had decided he wanted to make a bag for  his partner.

This is the bag that Mark wants to make for his partner using these Basket Style Bag instructions.

I thought to myself ahhh! that's a lovely thing to want to do, I also thought that's extra lovely because it's a guy who wants to make a bag for his partner and he isn't  a designer or a tailor - he just knows how to use a sewing machine.  I may be not forwarding the girl-power cause by saying this but that's like me knowing how to fix a toaster!

Mark has sensibly made a sample bag first out of 2 t-shirts, and a pair of boxer shorts!  It took him less than 2 hours.

Here is the finished sample bag - I'm really impressed!

Mark has posted his bag making in progress photos on his blog.  Whilst he isn't sewing bags he does things like travel around the world, fixing vehicles, sailing, and other intrepid things like that!

I'll post pics of finished article when they become available.  His partner sure is a lucky gal!

She sure is a lucky gal! I'm so impressed and think that this has got to be one of the most thoughtful things a guy could do for his lady.
