My sister went to Lille last week because she is a true Francophile. I don't blame her, they just seem to have a lot sussed when it comes to style, brilliant food and ingredients...drool. The craft scene is alive and kicking too (helped along by dee-lish-ush publications like Marie Claire Idees and beautiful craft supplies shops like La Droguerie, & Entree des Fournisseurs...double drool (both of which my sister has spent a small fortune in!)
Whilst she was there she bought loads of yummy craft books (like she always does). She's mainly into needle point and knitting, but she's recently taken more than a passing interest in sewing so she bought one of the loveliest European craft books I have seen lately. It's called Simple Sewing With A French Twist by Celine Dupuy and it's real eye-candy. My sister's copy of the book is written in French, so with my French being a bit on the rubbish side I bought the English version and it arrived today hurrah! Inside there are 50 different projects ranging from simple clothes to bags, to pretty things for the home. It might just distract me from making bags all of the time!
