A blog editor that really works and is FREE!

I just wanted to tell you about a cool blog editor that I have been testing and using for the last 2 weeks.  I'm not being hired by these guys or anything, it's just that I really like when things work (especially when they're free!)

The editor is called Qumana.  Here are the things I like about it:

  1. It's very easy to use.
  2. There is a Mac & a PC (but not Vista - thanks for the tip Tina) **Update** Tina's asked around and it looks like this work fine on Vista :)
  3. You don't need to log in to your blog in order to write a post, you don't even need to be online.
  4. It looks pretty.
  5. You can save posts to come back to later (which is relief for Typepad users).
  6. Inserting pics and links is quick and easy.
  7. It works for all the main blogs and you can use it for as many blogs as you want.
  8. It has spell check (after all of these years I still can't touch-type!)
  9. It has a good amount of editing tools.
  10. It's free, free, free!

Here's a screen shot of me composing this very post with Qumana on my Mac. That's kinda mirror within a mirror isn't it?

Spell check!!?
That would be fab! I use Word press and I think that's the one thing I'd change..

Interesting! I'd thought that most blog hosts would be sufficient (I find the Wordpress interface is very user-friendly), but I'll take a look at it anyway.
What Mac OS are you running? It looks like Leopard. How are you finding it? I've resisted upgrading yet, but might if it offers more than Tiger.

I love reviews about items from people that actually use the product! I'll have to check this out. I've yet to find an external blog editor that I heart.

Popped over to the site. By the screenshots, it looks like it would be really easy and fun to use. Unfortunately it's for windows xp...I have vista.

It is giving me problems with my Livejournal and Deadjournal, but my Blogger one seems to work. If I can't figure it out for the others, the Blogger will be a plus.

Thanks.

Oooh, this looks promising! I'll have to check it out and see how useful it would be for photoblog editing.
It can quite a chore to upload photos and then manually create, tag and publish posts one by one in Moveable Type. But even still, I do like having complete control over the organization of everything. :)

Thanks for the recommendation!

Dang! I wish I didn't have Vista--for this and many other reasons.

I am going to have to check this out. I looks interesting. I am an HTML freak, so I may not be able to control all I need to control.

Thanks for adding me to your list. I am blushing at the wonderful compliment! :)

Don't say! I spent hours yesterday trying to search for and learn about blog editors...You seem to be reading my mind all the time...last week was the iron bord cover...now the blog editor....That is cool.

Did some looking up...some vista users did download it (even though it says for windows xp)and they haven't had any problems. I think I'll give it a try.

Thankyou so much for your advice, I've jumped on the bandwagon and it seems awesome! Your blog rocks btw.

I never would have found your site had it not been for the link in notmartha.org
Your handbags are wonderful! I'm bookmarking your site today.

Hi everyone here,

I have started a new shopping portal - www.topestore.com where I have made my all endeavors to keep the prices highly competitive & a stores directory namely www.safeshoppe.com. I would thank the community here for their suggestion/advices. Please do not consider this a spam.
