As a sewing fiend Mummy I feel have arrived! I got to design clothing for my baby, my designs were made into dress pattern and she appeared on the pattern cover (and alllll over the show inside the pattern). Result one very happy and emotional mum! To say I am delighted with the results is somewhat an understatement!
I designed the patterns with ease of use in mind. I know that when a sewing fiend becomes a parent, crafting time suddenly becomes rather scarce and we mustn't forget how fast how our nippers grow! But the desire to make them something doesn't diminish just because our time does. So in response to this I have tried to design clothes that look cool, but don't require many hours or yards of fabric to create.
In these designs I have tried to strike a balance between including eye-catching design details with our desire to create quite quickly. These designs are not super-detailed heirloom sewing, but they do look rather cute and are finished to a standard high enough to be passed down the family.
The patterns are newbie friendly. All techniques are thoroughly explained (for instance, I even show you how I like to zigzag stitch seams). I haven't assumed any level of sewing knowledge (I think this is a more friendly and helpful way of writing instructions) so as long as you know how to thread up and can sew straight, you should be able to join in and have fun with my patterns. And if you are au fait with the techniques then that's great! It's just nice not to leave anyone behind :)
Oh and another thing (the thing that helps set these patterns apart is) most dressmaking patterns don't include photo instructions. More and more are including diagrams (but I can't draw!) I am a text and a visual learner, I need both to feel confident and comfortable. So I'm hoping that my including loads of colour instruction photos will help guide you along the way so we can relax a bit more and enjoy the sewing journey, rather than it become a stressful and confusing one!
I hope you'll give my patterns a try, or maybe give them as a gift. They'd make a lovely present, the card covers and overall finish of these patterns is great!
I will be stocking signed copies in my shop
Here's the sneaky peeky of the pattern (you can see a sneak peek of the other pattern: 'Dance With Me' here).

So, anyone who will has seen my previous books: 'The Bag Making Bible' and 'A Bag For All Reasons' will notice that the instruction format in this pattern has been kept pretty much to the same format as my books (and hopefully you'll find comfort in that?)
